As director of business development and investor relations at Affordable Equity Partners, Doug Harris leads investor engagement, capital formation initiatives and the placement of tax-advantaged investments across AEP’s platform. In his role, he works closely with banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions to structure tax-advantaged investments aligned with Community Reinvestment Act objectives.

Doug brings more than 10 years of experience in affordable housing finance, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit syndication and investor relations. Prior to joining AEP, he served as senior vice president and director of debt and equity syndications at KeyBank Community Investment Capital, where he helped originate and close equity and debt funds across LIHTC, historic and state tax credits. Over the course of his career, he has closed more than $1 billion in LIHTC equity transactions and supported over 185 affordable housing investments nationwide.

Previously, Doug served as vice president and fund manager for the Utah Housing Preservation Fund, where he helped raise more than $144 million and deploy nearly $100 million in equity to preserve and rehabilitate affordable housing communities.

Doug began his career at American Express National Bank, where he managed a $1.8 billion CRA loan and investment portfolio.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, cum laude, from the University of Utah, with a minor in sociology.
